We have organised visits for all the students in Year 7 to St Alfege's Church and the ORNC Visitors Centre in Greenwich in July 2023 to investigate the life of Thomas Tallis and the places where he spent much of his working life. These visits are a legacy of our 50th birthday celebrations.

Whilst not much historical evidence about Tallis has survived, students have been encouraged to infer from what does exist that he must have demonstrated personal characteristics and learning habits that continue to be encouraged by the school that bears his name today. He was clearly extremely imaginative, inquisitive, persistent, disciplined and collaborative in his working practice. Furthermore, he demonstrated respect, fairness, kindness, and honesty in his 45 years of service to four Tudor monarchs at the Palace of Placentia in Greenwich, where the ORNC stands today.
