How terrible was life for people in the 20th Century?
The investigation of the life of people in Britain during the 20th Century explores how difficult life was for poor people in the first half of the 20th Century and the further development of the Welfare state in the years after the Second World War. It also explores how life improved for many post 1945 and how the election result of 1979 began a process of economic and social change which was to challenge the post war concensus. |
